Waiting for the bus to take us from yasathon to the airport in ubon Ratchathani for our flight back to Bangkok....... After our tour of their home yesterday afternoon it was time for us to leave them to find our hotel and get ready for dinner. The kids would be joining us for dinner at the hotel, yes all 80 of them were brought on a bus the one hour into yasathon to dine in luxury! To jump on a bus after cycling everywhere felt like such a luxury, and there were many jokes on the way about it. But we found it hard to take in the scenery and atmosphere around us and quickly realised that we really did do it the best way! Just have to share a driving story with you to give you an idea of the road rules around here..... As I mentioned I am currently on a bus on the way to the airport. The driver just started tooting his horn and we looked out the front to see what he was tooting at. he is overtaking another vehicle with oncoming traffic obviously being in the way. So instead of pulling back in behind the other vehicle he just tooted them to move out of the way!! White lines and road rules truly are optional in this country! Will continue shortly....
