Day 7 cont......

I know that I keep writing about the amazing things that I am experiencing on this trip, but last night was just so special! We were getting ready for dinner and luckily had our door open as we were about to leave when Kuhn Whutt flew past our room saying "dec dec, baan hug"". Now luckily that Renee and I have picked up enough Thai from this trip to understand what he was saying because it was that some children from the orphanage were here!! We followed him downstairs into the car park where he opened the back of a van to 10 gorgeous little smiling faces! The boys (apparently the girls aren't strong enough to travel) were all young, probably under 4. The orphanage staff got them out of the car and we held the babies while the toddlers lined up holding the shoulders of the boy in front to walk into the foyer of our hotel to wait for Kuhn Thiew! This was organised as a surprise for her, and we just couldn't wait to see her face! The kids sat on the floor in front of the tv, which they don't have at the orphanage and we fed the babies their bottles! Then Kuhn Thiew walked down the stairs and her surprise and happiness just can't be described! She almost fell down the stairs! She sat on the floor in the middle of the hotel foyer and they all ran to her and hugged her! What a great moment to be a part of! So we sat there with babies in our arms, for over an hour and played with them and Kuhn Thiew told us all of their stories ....... Of abandonment, of neglect, of abuse, of illness, of having to decide whether to give them medicine or food as she couldn't afford both, but then of hope and health and a future now... What a night.....

  2. You and Renee are so blessed to be able to experience this journey, isn't it sad that we have to leave our Country which I beleive is truly Gods Country to appreciate what we have, we should as a family all contribute what we each can to sponsor one or more of these children, why don't you and Renee organise our family to do this.

    Go our girls

Love Pamela Mum, Dad & Dennis
