Day 3

End of day 3! Big riding day, 99km over some pretty rough roads and am full of mud! Beautiful country though, some spectacular views and am really enjoying riding alongside Pete and pushing the Kms out hard!! Renee rode with us today for a leg and he got a great sisters shot on his camera! Kuhn Thiew rode remarkedly today, she is obviously not feeling well but never complains and just keeps on pushing on behind Dan. We also have a 13 year old with us and he's doing great! He rode out hard On the first day to the point of throwing up on the side of the road, but the gutsy kid just jumped back on and kept riding! He's been nicknamed 'zigzag' and after pulling in behind him today I realised why!! Needless to say I didn't stay there long!! Riding in a pack is definately an art form. Although we spread out on the long legs there are also legs where we all ride together and it's great fun! Am learning all the hand signals and calls. And so far haven't clipped anyone although Renee and I did come close today when we hit some sand! Ok really need a shower, miss you all xo!! xo

  1. just read peters blog on the hands site and your name regulary appears for your strong riding, go girl. good to see all those 2000km paid off, there was a comment about how renee probly should have done some training in the last year!!! hard to believe that your almost half way on the ride, the temple would have been just a mind blowing walk, even though your legs cried out in pain i bet you got up the next morning and didnt feel any extra pain. Ride hard. savour every minute

  3. Hi ju, I wish I could say that igot up the next day and my legs didn't hurt, but a zillion steps will create something let me tell you!! Still have sore calves today from those steps! We're at lunch having done 66km before 11am! Apparently the fastest ride yet at an average of 26/27 km/h over rough dirt roads! Legs getting sore! Rest day tomorrow!! Yay! xo
