Happy New Year everyone! Am just lazing at the pool after a very late night! Loved the fresh paw paw salad for dinner which I haven't had since we lived in Darwin. Found a gorgeous little Thai lady on the street who made it for us with a great big smile on her face! The Thai people are just so friendly and happy and welcoming! We've learnt a few words already which always gets a laugh from the thai's when we try to say thank you or happy new year! The
thing that i first noticed about Bangkok is the huge difference in living standards that are in the city. There are huge modern high rise apartments with tiny tin sheds surrounding them. The street markets are fabulous! We are booked on a tour tomorrow to the tiger temple, bridge over the river kwai and floating markets. Massages and high tea this afternoon. Then off to Udon Ratchathani on Tuesday to prepare for the ride which starts on Wednesday. Miss you all xxx thanks for the post Laura, I love hearing from you guys!! xxoo

Hi Paddy! Great to hear from you! I'm still lazing by the pool, the weather is just lovely over here! No I'm not riding today, the ride starts very early on Wednesday morning. I will fly to the town that we start from on Tuesday to get my bike ready and meet all the other riders. I am glad to hear that you are having lots of fun with chad and cruis and at ma and pa's. I hope you catch lots Of fish tomorrow with your new lures and enjoy tin tin!! Love from mum xoxo.
ReplyDeleteHHHEEEEELLLLLLOOOOOO! Sorry I had to yell it but you are so far away. Great to hear you are being a typical tourist and eating the local cuisine and checking out the accommodation. Bet the floating markets were excellent today. I have seen them on TV but being there in person would just be wonderful. Dont forget to stretch up before you shoot off on your deadly treadly Malvern Star...... hope you got some spokey dokeys at the markets. xoxoxo
